Growing up I thought I knew what “reality” was.
But I didn’t. I only knew what I THOUGHT my “reality” was.
We all have such different perceptions of the world that unless we actually talk to each other and compare notes, we tend to do a lot of “mind reading.”
As kids we often learn INTENSE lessons on how to fit in and survive in our “family of origin”. These lessons are often so intense they leave a life long imprint on us and in turn affect everything and everyone around us. The technical term for these “one time learning events” is TRAUMA. And ultimately trauma creates Phobias and Anxiety as well as negative and pervasive beliefs that block the free flow of energy and keep us small, sick, hopeless, and stuck in “victim mode”.
Then we head out into the world as supposedly “well adjusted adults” and we continue to interact with EVERYBODY the same way we interacted in our families of origin.
Who was in charge? Your Mom or your Dad? I’ve worked with a lot of “nice” guys who grew up with dominant, feminist moms. And they pretty will do whatever a woman tells them to do… They give their power away to the feminine…
I’ve worked with women who grew up with abusive dads and they seem to find “dad duplicates” in all of THEIR relationships who “help them” to repeat the pattern of getting “beat up” literally or metaphorically.
Was there a “bully” in your family? Were you trained to be the victim?
Wherever you go do you find yourself being bullied? Maybe at home the way you got along was by being compliant and “good”. Or maybe you learned to “tune out” all the criticism? Maybe you got a lot of praise for keeping a neat room… so when things get messy you start to freak out until things are orderly again?
And not all of the “imprinting” we received was negative. There are often positive patterns as well that we want to keep. There are often positive aspects to the negative patterns that we want to keep as well.
For example I escaped into books. In the process I got praise because reading was valued in my family. I also learned how to educate myself because I couldn’t handle criticism. I got really good at self evaluation. But eventually a successful entrepreneur or teacher, or musician or auto mechanic or whatever, needs to be able to incorporate helpful feedback from other people without crashing and burning!
So with every strength there is weakness and with every weakness or wound there is strength.
The question is…
How the hell do we break the negative behavior and thought patterns that once kept us alive but now screw us up while at the same time strengthening the positive ones?
Good question! And that’s what I’ve been working on for about 30 years now. :o) LOL[Voice-over Announcer: “Yes! YOU TOO can clear PTSD with HYPNOSIS! but not just ANY hypnosis. HONEST HYPNOSIS!]
The first step is by realizing that ultimately we are creating this. When we Own our patterns then we can begin to heal.
And whether we actually did create our own reality or not, When we BELIEVE We are creating whatever dysfunctional patterns we are experiencing in our lives through our unconscious beliefs, decisions, childhood vows, family agreements etc. THEN we can do something about them.
If we CHOSE IT WE CAN CHANGE IT.
But if we don’t release the victim beliefs or patterns, there is no way to change.
We can not heal what we can not feel.
So sometimes we have to get down and dirty into gritty guck to clear out some of that old crap. And sometimes it’s NOT FUN.
But the only way out is THROUGH
(and sometimes it actually is a lot of fun particularly after a significant clearing).
The main thing to start with is awareness combined with the idea that it is ACTUALLY POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE PATTERNS.
However. It takes persistent, consistent action. What some people call “work”.
And the general population would prefer a pill.
But as songwriter Robert Palmer sang, in “Bad Case of Loving You”,
“No pill gonna cure this ill…”
But a path of personal mastery that combines energy work, hypnosis, NLP, attention to your diet and exercise, journaling, coaching and persistence can literally empower you to transform your life.
Add some powerfully hypnotic songs and stories and some energy gathering and grounding movements, the practice of asking powerful “how” and “why” questions presupposing your desired “reality” and you might be delightfully surprised with the kind of results that “stick”.
We are looking for sustainable, ecological, congruent transformation that works WITH your unconscious mind and trains both your conscious mind and your unconscious mind how to communicate with each other in the ways that get you positive change… POSITIVE RESULTS.
If one thing doesn’t do it, then another approach, a new combination will.
To use the old “motivational speaker” analogy, it’s like the stone cutter gently, persistently tapping, tapping, tapping at the right spot on the stone… eventually the rock breaks exactly where it most needs to in order to reveal the new you.
I’d like to invite you to check out part of the process I use to help people release the “stuff” in their lives that has been stopping them from fully living.
My new program: Hypnosis for PTSD is turning out to be the best course I’ve ever developed.
It should really be called, “Clearing Out The Emotional and Behavioral Crap from Your Childhood that is Screwing up Your Life so that you can start living the life of joy, health, wealth and love that you deserve” :o)
So for the present we will keep calling it “Hypnosis For PTSD” because ultimately our patterns of behavior that cause us problems are 99% of the time caused by our childhood reaction to something traumatic.
Just in case you find actually paying money for self help programs to be “traumatic,” at the moment we are offering “Hypnosis for PTSD” at a reduced, “pre-release” price with my usual unconditional guarantee.
And if you are all “good” and just read these emails/posts to get a daily Mind Mastery Assignment and Transformation Tune, here’s your
Mind Mastery Assignment for today: (should you choose to accept it)
Begin to gently question your habitual mental patterns. Particularly “mind reads”.
A “mind read” is when you project out onto another person what you think about other people or when you think you know what they’re thinking. For example if you tend to jump to the conclusion that other people think certain negative thoughts about you, start imagining them thinking positive thoughts about you. You can also imagine yourself thinking positive thoughts about them.
We are making this stuff up people so let’s make up some good stuff for a change ok? And ultimately we CAN clear what needs to be cleared so we can live the kind of lives we’ve always longed to live!
And while you’re at it, I know you will absolutely LOVE this song.
The really important thing is just to be fully aware that you can realize the change you’re looking for…
And here’s how
