I just got off the phone with Dr. Donnie Epstein who was kind enough to clarify a point that I “thought” he made. :o)
Donnie was quoting Tony Robbins who said, “The only thing we have absolute control over is our focus, and what we make things mean” (or something close). I quoted Donnie as being the one who said that but I was actually quoting Dr. Donnie quoting Tony…
What Dr. Donnie was shedding light upon was the fact that he was actually saying:
It is our level of energy that allows us to actualize a better focus and better interpretation of events.
And by opening up the spine and the rest of the neurology it allows more energy to flow which opens up a new ability to interpret the world
from a higher level of wholeness, wellness, joy, creativity etc…
At least that what I THINK Dr. Donnie said, :o)
All I know is that I feel like he’s articulating something I’ve been working on in my own life, in my own practice but haven’t fully articulated yet…

Ultimately this transformational work, for those of you who are aware of it and engaged in it, is ALL about being able to handle more energy…
Think about it. Your thoughts… the shitty ones… Do they energize you or drain you?
What’s going on with the Energy of those thoughts?
And the positive ones, the hopeful ones, the joyful ones, the silly ones, the loving and grateful and kind ones?
Do they open the energy or what?
And if they “energize” you thats what makes it something we call “feeling good”… We are drawn to feeling good…It feels good to feel good.
And what is feeling good except our interpretation of energy movement. We call it “feeling good” but that’s just a name, a label we put on something that is literally us noticing a movement or flow of energy.
I think Dr. Donnie said that too…
From this point forward remember that most of this was said back in the days of Socrates and Aristotle, so none of us are original. We stand on the shoulders of giants.
The energy systems of the human body where mapped many thousands of years ago.
But it is the DISCOVERY process that every human being has the opportunity to explore.
Just knowing these ideas doesn’t change anything. It is only when we DISCOVER these truths and then begin to apply them in our lives that we get to demonstrate and prove the efficacy of applying them in actual lives and bodies…
That’s where the juice is. That’s what Drives us
You can control your Focus and the meaning you attach to the events of your life but you need the free flow of energy in order to manage to do that…
So where do you begin?
Exactly where you are.

p.p.p.p.s. What if you could move the energy with your… mind… pay attention to how open you are… pay attention to the flow of heat and sensation in your body…. you are aware aren’t you of the fact that so much of what is going on with you is totally outside of your awareness…
paying attention to THIS.
THIS is your focus as you read this. Going deeper into the awareness of all the good feelings you’ve ever felt. Isn’t that what we are attempting to do in every area of our lives isn’t it? To feel good.
What would it be like to feel good? That’s right.
What would it be like to feel really, really, really good… right now…?
When you are feeling really, really, really, really, really, good, is the flow of energy through your neurology open or constricted?
Which came first? Feeling good so the energy can flow? Or The energy flowing fine, which feels good?
If you find yourself beginning to move your body in ways that just plain and simple feel PLEASURABLE, I wouldn’t be surprised. What if the desire to feel good was hardwired into our neurology?
it is more than not being in pain. Pleasure is a positive sensation that stimulates this animal of our body in a tremendously healing way…
So if we ever are in a place in life that is challenging us we can pay attention when we notice that our energy system is being constricted by the negative thoughts and habits of movement and old attention patterns… we can consciously begin to invite the system to open back up by focusing on the breath, by moving in gentle and subtle ways, correcting our posture, moving in a grounded and present way…
What if you could imagine all that and make sense of it in the best and most positive way in your own life as you take action and apply it?
