In other words thinking about the horrible thing that you don’t want to have happen in the future, creates all the same images and feelings as if it is really happening because your unconscious mind THINKS it’s happening NOW. It doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined, what’s the past or the future.
Think about some horrible thing that happened in your past (like your first anxiety attack?)and “boom” your unconscious mind thinks it’s happening NOW.
But the deal is. It’s NOT happening Now. Focus on how safe you are right NOW. Heck! focus on how cute and healthy your left pinkie toe is RIGHT NOW.
