When Things Don’t Work The Way You Want Them To…
- It could be a wake up call
- It could be a momentary annoyance
- It could be a blessing
- It could be a challenge
- It could be a test
- It could just be fvcking annoying…
Whatever the case the opportunity is always there to respond RESOURCEFULLY.
Case in point: This morning NONE of my videos and NONE of my audios on ALL OF MY WEBSITES would play…
There was some “security update” in WordPress… I still have no clue other than the fact that we have to respond and do something about over 1,000 videos and audios that now need to be re-coded…. Not what I was planning on doing this weekend.
In the past I would have freaked out and gotten all upset as I imagined none of my online courses being able to deliver as promised… I could have imagined all the complaints and refunds and hassle…
But instead, I submitted a support ticket and my business partner started moving some of my most crucial videos to another hosting site…
Basically a good idea that in the future will give us more flexibility and options… duplicate delivery routes.
The old saying goes, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat”… no offense to cat lovers but you get the idea.
It’s something I come back to over and over again in many of my courses and in my daily podcasts and videos.
As masters of our own minds, we always have a choice as to how we respond to things that seem “bad” at the time.
Looking back on my life it is pretty clear that most of the stuff that was “bad” was literally moving me towards a much better reality, but without the push and urgency of the “bad” thing happening, I would have just stayed where I was.
So one of my own daily practices with my own personal mind mastery practice is to vent and curse if necessary to blow off some steam but to NEVER take my venting or cussing seriously. So I often do it now for the fun of it with a wry smile on my face… That done, I use my personal power tools to change my thoughts, my physiology and my behavior to resolve and release whatever the problem is.
If there is nothing I can do about a challenge for the present moment, then I let it go. I don’t drop it or give up, but I don’t waste time on something I can’t fix right now.
For example, I have yet to hear back from tech support about my video and audio files… AND because I tried to get my own tech guy to help me and he hadn’t set up his own user name etc for the video hosting service, and logged in while I was logged in, I am now locked out of my own server account… LOL!
So I focused on some other things that I had been meaning to work on. Got those done and thanks to all of that, I now have my daily Mind Mastery topic for today.
When things don’t work the way we want them to, it could also mean that we are not consciously understanding what is really the problem. It’s kind of hard to solve a problem that you don’t know exists or to think you are solving a problem when in actuality you are treating a symptom not a cause.
This is something that I keep coming back to all the time in my Honest Hypnosis practice. People would come to me to have hypnosis to stop smoking or lose weight or alleviate anxiety, they would want me to fix their problem. But for smokers, and weight loss folks, the smoking or eating was really a symptom of them self soothing their anxiety…
And for the anxiety folks the real problem was not usually the anxiety, it was their habitual way of thinking, constantly imagining the future disasters that might be looming for them and their loved ones…
The real problem is often underneath all of the “presenting problems”.
The presenting problems are GOOD because it is the surface issue that causes you to take action. If you are persistent you can clear the presenting problem by paying attention to the underlying cause… eventually clearing the underlying cause will often clear multiple presenting problems so powerfully that it may seem like magic.
And it kind of is magic.
After a full day breakthrough session clearing massive chunks of past trauma and limiting beliefs, a client asked me, “What if I’m just IMAGINING clearing all these issues?”
My response (which was fvcking brilliant if I say so myself) was,
“Well, your IMAGINATION is your unconscious mind.
What if you have just been IMAGINING the “problem” all these years?
What if you consistently and persistently IMAGINE the problem to be gone?
What if you IMAGINE that old problem to have been a “purpose problem” that was perfectly designed to get you to start doing some seriously deep healing work on yourself, which you are now doing and will continue to do for the rest of your long, healthy awakened life?”
I’d also like to point out at this moment that IMAGE is the root of IMAGINATION… and what is the root of IMAGE?
MAGE… that’s a cool old fashioned word for wizard. Presto chango! You have changed the images in your mind and are now getting DIFFERENT results that you can feel in your body and begin to notice in your life.
Imagine clearing the past totally of all trauma and limiting beliefs. Poof! just clear your mental movie screen and be done.
If you knew how to truly communicate with your unconscious mind, you could literally do that right now.
But here is one of themes profound truths of all time delivered from one of my mentors (a 25 year old multi-millionaire punk):
Are you ready?
” Your Unconscious Mind doesn’t go where it wants to go.
It goes where you tell it to go most often.”
So if you are constantly bitching and moaning about all the things that aren’t going your way, guess what? You are going to get more of things not going your way.
But if you STOP and give your Unconscious Mind the steady suggestion that there is a benefit in this situation that you just need to pay attention to, your unconscious mind will do THAT.
And ultimately life is about solving “problems.”
Get used to it, and get good at solving them. You are more powerful than you have been allowing yourself to think you are.
