What is so confirming to me as a hypnotherapist is that the mainstream media is beginning to move away from their exaggeration of what hypnosis is and more towards exploring what hypnosis is and what it can do to help people stop smoking, lose weight, clear phobias, drop habits and improve many areas of their lives.
Here’s a clip from Australian TV that does a good job of demonstrating some of the basics of hypnotherapy and why it works.
It covers, the ability of the hypnotherapist to influence the heart rate of his hypnosis subject, as well as a demonstration of “eye lock” and confirmation that hypnotherapy is considered a valid approach by the Australia department of health.
In the US, the American Medical Association has approved hypnosis as a legitimate therapy since 1958.
