Here’s a letter I got just the other day.
I’m writing from Mexico City.
I’ve been suffering from this terrible nightmare since I was a teenager. Now I’m 33. In about 2 months I’ll take a flight (I’ve experienced 2 panic attacks flying and have an absolute terror of flying in an airplane), my future depends on it because I’m going to live with my fiancé in the USA.
These last 2 months my anxiety and phobias have increased. Now, I feel I can’t drive because when there’s a lot of traffic I feel ill. I can’t help it but I start yelling, “Someone get me out of here!”
I’m stuck. Help me.
Today I went shopping with my mom and dad. My dad was driving. When he drove back home I was very nervous with my hands shaking, having a panic attack. I felt like, “PLEASE STOP THE CAR! I just want to be home right now. Something bad is happening to me.
I’ve been seeing a psychologist and I just talk about my problems. My therapist only tells me to watch other people and see nothing is happening to them. Or to imagine I’m two people and not let the “fear person” control me.
I want to be happy and free.

I’ve worked with several corporate executives and CEO’s who exerted huge amounts of energy to hide the fact that they were terrified of failure or speaking in front of groups. They would imagine themselves to be having a heart attack or some other ailment. But all the tests showed them to be perfectly healthy. The result was that they felt even worse! Now their family was thinking of them as being hysterical or a hypochondriac.
I wonder if you could help me…my boyfriend has been suffering from suspected anxiety for the past month. It got quite bad before we went on holiday as he is under quite a bit of pressure at work and tends to stew over things instead of talking about them and getting them out in the open.
He has had an ECG scan of his heart today to check there is nothing wrong there as the doctor here wants to rule everything else out and has not suggested that it could be anxiety. It is very frustrating as we are constantly waiting for more appointments and my boyfriend is angry that nothing can be done for ages as we don’t definitely know what it is.
Your videos inspired us into thinking perhaps there is help out there. I did psychology at university so I can relate to a lot of the information you say. The only problem is my boyfriend does not consciously know what is stressing him – he cannot pinpoint it – but he does mull over things and tend not to take action to eradicate things which are preying on his mind. He thinks things over all day and gets more het up about it. However although your technique works for things when he can pinpoint the stressor – what if he can’t? For instance – even at the weekend he can have the symptoms – or when he is at his mum and dads and should be relaxed – it seems there is no certain cause.
Here are his symptoms:
– Feelings of being out of himself
– Difficulty concentrating
– An almost constant ‘sinking feeling’ uncomfortable below his ribs
– Feeling as if he is about to faint (sweating came with this until he taught himself that he never did actually faint)
– when going to the gym or to the shop he suddenly feels out of himself – so in public situations.
I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thing is – he shouldn’t be feeling like this – he is 25 – brilliant job, fit – goes to gym, eats healthy, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink much, happy and moved 4 months ago to a lovely new house. He says things couldn’t be better – so very odd to happen!

Can you relate to any of these people? I get e-mails from dozens and dozens of folks just like you all over the world. Every single day.
You are not alone!
What is your worry, anxiety, panic or phobia costing you?
Seriously! grab a pen and a piece of paper and write it down.
Your health? The stress on your body of the fight or flight hormones released by your body in response to anxiety or panic is downright toxic. It’s designed to get you out of danger. Every once in a while. You know, if a lion is chasing you or something. But to trigger it every day on a constant basis will eventually hurt you. Bad.
Your Career? If you are filled with fear and worry and anxiety and cringing at the thought of another panic attack, your work will suffer. Whether you are self employed or work for “the Man”, it’s going to hurt your chances of success. Instead of seeing and acting on opportunities that knock, you’re so focused on what could go wrong that you actually create that.
Your Relationships? For folks with social anxiety or even the typical shy guy with approach anxiety, just starting a conversation with someone can be a grim, miserable ordeal. What are you missing in your relationships because of anxiety? Also, you may have patient family members. Most of us anxiety sufferers do not. Many anxiety sufferers suffer even more because of the skepticism and impatience of their family members. How does your family deal with your anxiety challenge?
There is a solution. There is a different way. And you can get it and apply it today.
Let me guess. You have tried will power, forcing yourself to do the thing you are afraid of…and it got worse right? Since forcing yourself to face your fear didn’t work, you just do your utmost to avoid the situations that trigger your discomfort, shyness, anxiety, fear, phobia or panic.
Avoidance is tricky though because you never know when you will unexpectedly find yourself in a “trigger” situation…
So you never know when you will suddenly experience the full onslaught of fight or flight chemicals racing through your body, heart pounding, clenched teeth, tight throat, light head, churning gut, sweaty, shaking hands and worse.
So you become hyper vigilant, always on t he alert…
You’ve probably beaten yourself up asking, “What’s wrong with me? Other people seem to be able to do this, why can’t I?.”
Have I come close to what you’ve been struggling with? Like you, I struggled with all the stuff I’ve just described. It just sucks doesn’t it? There’s no way to sugar coat it. It just SUCKS!
Let me assure you:

It’s just that you, (like me) are a highly sensitive person who is extremely intelligent, creative and imaginative.
Just like me, YOU have been using the power of your mind to make yourself miserable.

It’s Not Your Fault That Your Amazing, Powerful Mind Didn’t Come With A User’s Manual!
Somebody once said “Whether you make yourself happy or make yourself miserable the amount of effort is the same.”
Ultimately that statement contains a key ingredient for massive positive transformation. It is the understanding that you are “at cause.” If you are the one making yourself miserable, then instead of being a helpless victim, you have the power to create a different outcome.
Again it’s not your fault. No one gave you a user’s manual for your Mind. It’s not about fault or blame. It’s just about getting to the place where you decide to let go of the old, painful pattern and replace it with something that works better for you.
But it takes more than just a decision! It takes a commitment to change plus a proven way to actually make the change and then keep the change.
The cool thing is you already have the power to totally blast through this stuff.
The point is you’ve been using your patterns of thought and behavior to make yourself miserable. What I help you do is use those same skills in a different way so you get better results. Even better, you get to be in charge of your change so you can maintain it. It’s not something I do to “cure” you. It’s something you do to heal yourself.
It’s the classic situation of giving someone a fish vs. teaching them to fish.
Before I get to that, would it be okay to tell you a little bit about myself?
I was pretty much afraid of everything. I was always the shy anxious kid, the sensitive, thin skinned one who always hesitated before doing anything. My family reminded me for years about how they wouldn’t even let me in to nursery school because I cried too much.
You know those rides at the county fair? In 5th grade my friend George Jergens coaxed me on to one of them…I think it was the “octopus” and it spun around in two different ways…I thought I was gonna die…other kids from school made fun of me for years for the way I screamed…
Even now all I have to do is think of that moment and my palms start to sweat. I know what it’s like to walk in your shoes.
Starting a conversation with a cute girl? I became an instant dorky robot. It would take days and weeks of effort just to pick up the phone or to say hi. And then I did just about everything wrong…
I was given the great gift of being a singer/songwriter. I’ve written almost 400 songs. Really good songs. I’ve been told by people who know music that I’m a world class songwriter – “one of the best of our generation!”
So what? My fear of criticism basically kept me from playing them anywhere. When I did perform, I could get up on stage. That wasn’t the fear. The fear was that someone in the audience wouldn’t like me or would think I was conceited or self absorbed. Or that I was fooling myself to think than anybody wanted to hear my songs. So I held back. My performances were painfully wooden. And I would suffer for days afterwards if anybody got up and left. If anyone said anything remotely critical (even just trying to give me helpful “feedback”) it just destroyed me.
Performing was so painful that I just stopped. Why even bother if it’s going to be so painful? As a result for 30 years only a tiny handful of people heard my music. Music that could have been out there in the world touching lives and making a positive difference…
The time in high school when I was asked to play some hymns at my church on my French Horn. I was so frozen with fear I couldn’t get a sound out ..except a humiliating farting sound…People laughed and I wanted to just die…
I literally had a sales phobia. Couldn’t sell my music CD’s from the stage. Couldn’t pick up the phone to get a gig. Couldn’t approach a record company or a publisher or an agent or a manager.
I was terrified of offending people or of people being angry with me. I couldn’t be honest in relationships. I was easy to manipulate. I put up with crap that no one should tolerate. I lived my life walking on eggshells.
You name it, my fear and internal resistance kept me miserable. I tried everything from talk therapy to primal scream, to group therapy, to assertiveness training and Tony Robbins motivational cassettes. Nothing seemed to work until I discovered the secrets I’ll share with you soon.
I cured my own shyness in moments. Seriously. In less than 10 minutes I was just done with that old belief about myself.
It’s okay if you don’t believe me. I see it every day. You SHOULD be skeptical. I’m not asking you to believe me. I’m only asking you to be curious and to have an open mind.
Some of my other long term patterns of self sabotage took a bit longer but within a relatively short time of earnestly applying all the tools I will be teaching you, I was loving my life and work and living to the fullest.
One of my biggest challenges was somehow finding a way to get my 400 or so original songs out of my living room and into the ears and hearts of people who could appreciate and benefit from them. As I said before, for 30 years I basically kept my music under wraps and it was painful. I’ve written so many songs that it would take 15 Two hour concerts for me to play them all from start to finish.
What amazing talents, abilities or gifts do you have that you are not allowing yourself to share?
It was excruciating to perform and excruciating to not perform. It was frustrating and agonizing to sabotage myself every time I tried to go for my dream. Some mysterious internal force just kept stopping me.
If I did have a performance I usually made myself sick. If I did get up the courage to send my songs to a record company or club, I never followed up.
Another challenge was with dating and relationships…and money…and certain health issues…
Anyway I think you get the idea.
Now, since clearing my own fears, anxiety and phobias, I’ve integrated my music into every area of my life including my private NLP practice and my speaking engagements. Also, because of these techniques,
- I am dramatically more relaxed and at ease in front of my audiences as well as dealing with criticism and uninvited “feedback” (Do I like it? No! but it doesn’t destroy me).
- I no longer get sick every time I have a gig.
- I no longer beat myself up with negative self talk
- I no longer expect the worst
So, to continue the story, I discovered some rapid change tools that got me real results. FAST.
I had to learn more. So I absolutely poured my energy into learning them to help myself and then to help people like you. Yes that is correct. Typically I can help even severe anxiety and phobia sufferers in 10 hours or less. Not just to find temporary relief. I’m not satisfied until I help them permanently and positively destroy their old anxiety patterns.
Do I have a 100% success rate? No. No one does. (Disclaimer: Every one is different. How long it takes you to clear anxiety depends on you. I do not “cure” anyone. I am a coach. the client is the one who does the change work.)
There are several challenges here.
First of all one of the basic traits of someone who suffers from anxiety is that they vividly and powerful use their mind to imagine the worst possible scenario. So many of the people who I could help basically imagine that they would come to work with me and not get the best result. They have gotten so good at projecting negative outcomes into their future that they never even contact me. Which is why I started offering a guarantee. (more about that later)
Secondly, not everyone could afford to fly in and work with me.
Thirdly as the demands on my time increased I had to raise my fees.
I started to get frustrated. I got into this whole thing first of all to help myself. In a radically short time I had done that.
Next, I wanted to help other people. As many people as possible.

What do I do if there’s something that I’m afraid WON’T happen in the future, and I want it to happen? I’ve only started getting anxiety/panic attacks for the last 6 days and was seriously hoping it wouldn’t turn into a lifetime issue until I decided to see what was available on YouTube. After watching ALL 9 of your videos i feel better in knowing there is a way to overcome this without the aid of drugs. I’ve just come back from seeing my medical practitioner who prescribed me Lorazopam 2.5mg. NO THANKS.

Unfortunately if you don’t listen to the messages your Unconscious mind is sending you, eventually it may do something even more abrupt to get you to stop and listen. Deal with it now. You’ll look back later and be grateful you made the change before it was too late.
“It won’t work for me”
As long as you have honestly addressed the “secondary gain” that keeps you from changing, these tools and techniques, properly applied will work for you. One or more tools may work better than others for you. However if you never give it a chance then it’s guaranteed not to work for you.
